Emmanuel... assemblies for Christmas
A musical and dramatic retelling of the Christmas story
Mark Baxter
Welcome, especially if you have recently joined
Foundations21 and this is the first edition of e-news you have received. This is one of the ways we keep in touch with you and let you know what is happening.
We are having some warm spring weather (here in the middle of England) – I hope that as you went through the darker days of Lent and Holy Week you were blessed with excitement and anticipation at Easter.
Did Foundations21 provide you with something useful? I hope so. I also know that for some of you things became very hectic and you took a break. That's fine! One of the principles of Foundations21 is the flexibility to do as much or as little as you like. It is ideal for when you are on holiday or need to take a break - you can just pick-up again when you are back into the regular routine of life.
SPRING HARVEST
I have just returned from visiting (with Richard Fisher) all six Spring Harvest weeks. What a great Christian festival! I met with many Christians keen to sustain the kind of spiritual growth they experienced during this time of worship and learning. We hope many of them will join Foundations21 in the coming days. Thanks to Gilly, Chris and Gillian for being brave enough to stand up and talk about their experiences from a user’s point of view. It was good to meet you face to face!
CHRISTIAN RESOURCES EXHIBITION (CRE)
Another inspiring event is the national
Christian Resources Exhibition, 15 – 18 May at Sandown Park, Esher. A BRF team will be there. Do visit our stand if you are planning to come to CRE. I'm doing a Seminar on
Foundations21 on Tuesday 15 May
(NOT Thursday as mentioned in the last e-news). It's at 2.45 –3.30 pm. Supporters welcome!
BBC features ONLINE PRAYER AND WORSHIP
Did you listen to Sunday Worship at 8am from 'St Pixels'. This is a site which gathers Christians online to pray and worship, using Chat and Message boards in a similar way to
Foundations21. Their focus is more general than ours, but it was very encouraging to hear a similar project being given such a high profile on the BBC.
TALKING OF CHAT ROOMS…
If you go to our Chat Rooms you will see that, as well as the main screen, you can now talk in the
Coffee Bar, or if you want to be more relaxed, the
Lounge. Alternatively you can meet in the
Chapel, or go outside and talk in the
Garden. Just click on your choice and see who is there. If you are part of an online group, agree a venue and a time!
As well as Mondays and Fridays at 8pm, I will be around from 2pm on Tuesday afternoons for anyone who wants to chat at that time.
That's all for this month.
See you in the Coffee Bar perhaps!
